Philosopher in Umeå
I’m an associate professor of philosophy at Umeå University. I have previously held post-doc positions and fixed-term lecturer jobs at Stockholm University and the University of Gothenburg, done research at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences at Uppsala, and taught courses in philosophy at the Senior Citizen’s University in Stockholm.
My research focuses on free will, moral responsibility, rationality, respect, and the philosophy of psychiatry. I’ve also done research and published in applied ethics, primarily animal ethics.
I currently teach courses within the broader domains of moral philosophy and political philosophy and have previously taught various courses in history of philosophy.
I received my Ph.D. in philosophy in 2012 at Stockholm University with a dissertation titled Practical Perspective Compatibilism, in which I developed a Kantianism-inspired version of compatibilism. In 2020, I received the Swedish academic title of docent at Umeå University.
Nowadays, I write fiction as well as scholarly texts.
